Raul has an athletic build offset by his height that reaches around the below average mark, at 5'6", though that fact doesn't bother him. People often mistake him to be much younger that he actually is because of it. He has brown eyes and straight black hair, subconsciously styled upwards to make up for his height. A streak of bleached hair remains on his head from his sister's experiment. His attire usually consists of what proves to be comfortable or what allows him to move freely and it is not uncommon at all to see him wearing a plain shirt, jeans and a pair of sneakers.


Raul was raised on a quaint town with a younger sister. Their parents weren't rich, but did their job in providing for the two of them. Nothing special happened for the majority of his childhood. His days went by doing things that most children his age did, which probably was pretty much play, eat and then sleep. His sister was an achiever at academics though, and was pretty much better than everything than Raul was. Still, the two were close and there had been no such thing as sibling rivalry between them.

Raul held no interest in anything as he grew up while the opposite was the case for his sister. While he did try out extracurricular activities and other hobbies, nothing quite attached to him. When the time came for him to graduate high school, as much as he wanted to remain dependent, he had go through unemployment and pretty much miss out on higher education. Even if he did go, he figured he won't have the motivation to keep up with the expectations and that he'd just eventually quit. "My sister's gonna get a degree anyways," he'd always thought.

He stayed at home and started taking part-time jobs on the mean time. Most of the money went to his parents, and part of it went to his hobbies such as books. When the time came for his sister to leave their home for college, she decided to have Raul accompany her to the Capitol. A few words of resentment later, he eventually agreed. Before they left, Raul asked if he could have a year long vacation, to which his parents agreed.
