Zaurack was extremely grateful to the Mantyke for saving him from the fall in Waveless Enclave and was willing to do anything to return the favour. But he was rather surprised when the kite Pokemon pointed at the Wandering Savanna on the Iwos map when he asked where they should begin searching for the shards. “That’s quite far from here. Are you sure about this?” he asked in a gentle tone, ensuring he doesn’t sound like he was having second thoughts about helping. The Mantyke looked up at him with as much seriousness as it could muster and nodded vigorously. “To the Wandering Savanna then,” he said, folding the map and boarding the bus to Ashborne town along with Mantyke and all his Pokemon. While the bus trip was shorter than one would expect, Zaurack knew he definitely wouldn’t be able to make it for the dinner he promised at Dianne’s house that evening. So, while he was on the bus, he left an apologetic message to her, explaining the situation. This was the third consecutive time he was cancelling on her due to such emergencies and he knew he was brewing a storm. The last time this happened, she hunted him down for a better explanation and apology… The industrialized Ashborne town was not Zaurack’s favourite. So, immediately after he got off the bus, he didn’t stop anywhere and headed straight towards the Wandering Savanna. Thankfully, he had stocked up well on all the essentials in Doveport itself and didn’t need a pit stop before he ventured into the wild. As he approached the outskirts of the town, the factory density rapidly decreased, and as a consequence, there was more greenery and the air felt a lot fresher. “Take the lead, Mantyke,” he said, halting and waiting for directions. Promptly, Mantyke flew ahead of him and began directing him into the forest. As the trees closed in on the party, Zaurack released his Mawile, Arya, to ensure they don’t get jumped by any wild Pokemon. However, the opposite happened; as he stepped onto the dry branches on the ground, making cracking sounds, he startled a Pikipek sitting on one of the lower branches. Upon seeing the Mantyke and Mawile, the Pikipek flew away. While Zaurack would have loved to add the little bird to his team, he had more pressing matters at hand. So, he let it fly away. Curiosity sustained the blunette's will to continue traveling, as fatigue should have caused him to stop hours ago. Tyrogue, the baby pokemon he now followed, showed remarkable stamina and resolve as he continued to pave the way towards the Wandering Savannas. The boy wondered how much further along they needed to travel to locate these shards. Though he knew this was only the beginning for this quest as according to what the elder had told him back in Prum Peaks, these shards were scattered all over. Suddenly a humming noise roamed within earshot as a bus chugged past them. Face-palming, Toshiro glanced down to the Tyrogue and wondered why he hadn't just taken the bus there. They could've arrived hours ago had he not already been accustomed to the long treks. I suppose it can't be much further ahead, the blunette concluded silently as they duo approached Ashborne Town. Though he had never truly visited Ashborne, today would not be the day to admire and explore. With the demise of Tyrogue's savior on the line and the balance of his home beginning to tilt, Toshiro had more pressing matters to attend to. Exiting the town no faster than they had arrived, the two of them begin to approach the fated savannas. Up ahead, the shadow of what seemed like a Mantyke disappeared into the canopy as another trainer entered the dense forest. Intrigued by the sight of another trainer and baby pokemon, Toshiro wondered if they too were hoping to retrieve the shards of Xerneas. Quickening the pace, Tyrogue launched into a near sprint as he attempted to follow his fellow Enclave dweller. Following close behind, Toshiro ignored the frightened Foongus that hopped out of there path as it fled into the undergrowth. "That Mantyke a friend of yours?" questioned the trainer. With a slight nod, the Tyrogue answered while continuing to track the other trainer. "Well lets hope they have a better idea of what's going."active pokemon  | 37/37 HP |
