Zaniah is a sensitive bundle of compassion, encased in a hard exterior shell of practicality and ambition. While she can be cold as hard as a diamond, she can also be warm and melt like wax. The girl is an open book, but she doesn't get close to people easily anymore, having eventually been left to her own devices during her school years. To quench her curiosity about the relationships between Pokemon and people (after getting her first Pokemon) she undertook the field of medicine, extending not only two humans but Pokemons as well. Her connection with the creatures is as real as her relationships with people. Being a football player taught her to be intimidating. Her will to win burned through her eyes, she quickly realised the affect it had on her opponents and didn’t hesitate to use it to her advantage. She learned to work with this even in school, most silly girls maintained a weary distance. To top it all, in any group assignments her group was always the most efficient one... Also to retain her ability to maintain the element of surprise for football, Zan learned to be inscrutable, however this seeped into her general demeanour and people have a tough time figuring out what is going on in her head. This doesn't work in her favour because she considers herself to be an open book and expects everyone around her to understand her perfectly. Upon being misunderstood, she may react in any manner she pleases, which ranges from a fiery storm to some depressing sulking. Her reactions like her, are difficult to predict. Zaniah's thirst for knowledge is unquenchable, from how things work, to what they do, she likes to know everything. Luckily for her, she possesses an incredible memory and skill to make connections between things. From memorising football moves to the contents of the cells for Biology, it was all easy. Apart from that she loves to read and her acumen for languages is only shadowed by her love for the sciences.. Whether its strategising or solving a problem, Zan doesn’t struggle much... Despite preferring the logic of Math and Physics, she decided to pursue medicine (in hopes to understand the psychology of pokemon's and people better) in order to fulfil her late grandfather's dream... Zaniah is very perceptive and highly attuned to her environment. Though she may not always be able to explain her deductions, she can tell when things are going to go wrong. When she has a 'bad feeling' there is a 90% chance that things are not going to work out the way they were planned. Though this is a gift, she is reluctant to share these 'feelings' with anyone and will most likely charge head on despite them. The girl has a problem of wanting to do too many things all at once. Once she starts doing something, she can be incredibly focused, but she has a tough time choosing what she should start. Though football offered her discipline, it didn't teach her how to make choices. Thankfully, the sport wasn't too tough because while playing she rarely ever consciously thought of what move to make next, it happened naturally. The ball was an extension of her foot and she wouldn't give it up easy. Zaniah is very broad minded, but her tolerance for anyone who is not is very very low. Most people find this ironic, but the ones who know her well, understand that its the way she is. While she is open to discussions, she has very few and very clear ideas about how to live, broadly they consist of not trying to control anyone else's life and if somebody's belief threatens that, she can get obnoxiously intolerant. She is also quick to dissociate herself from disloyal and dishonest people, rarely giving them the benefit of doubt. [attr="id","bioSub"]Appearance Zaniah is of a short stature standing at about 5'2, but what she lacks in height she makes up in ferocity. Her dark eyes are bold and determined. Her hair is as unruly as she is and refuses to behave, one can see it's black tresses frayed around her head, framing her spritely face. The girl is lean and toned, with a sporty body and weighs under 95 pounds. Zaniah dresses casually the weather playing a big part in what she dons. On hot summer days she'll be found in tank tops and shorts. On cold winter mornings she'll wear a sweater with stockings and a skirt. Occasionally she wears her nerdy glasses, but they aren't too essential since her eyesight isn't all that bad. [attr="id","bioSub"]biography Before her birth, Zan's household stood precariously. The priorities of her mother were very different from the principles of her conservative father. She wanted to work, he wanted a stay at home wife, that was the root of all problems. The fights the couple had were infamous. Zaniah’s to be father was fierce and her to be mother was fiery. Fierce and violent, fiery and passionate. A child, they said, would cure the troubles… Bad advice. Her father had prayed for a daughter, hoping her gentle presence would quell the fire that burned and not add fuel to it. Alas, even in the womb, Zaniah was a tumultuous child. She would kick and squirm and struggle more than most others. Her father should have known right then, his dreams of bringing up a demure obedient little girl… were going to be perished. Unfortunately, Zan's mother took the fall for her faults and things got from bad to worse. When Zaniah was about six, her mother decided it wasn’t right to raise a girl like her in such an oppressive and violent environment. The mother made the brave move to separate from her father and return to her own parents. Zan's grandparents were loving, her mother worked when she could and things went well for her from then on. From a distance, even her parents could maintain a small degree of friendship and tolerate each other’s presence when absolutely necessary. Zaniah grew to be a curious child. She was spoiled as the only kid in the house, but the adults around her also treated her like an equal. This made her a little precocious and yet, she didn't lose her innocence. Through her school Zaniah preferred the friendship of boys over girls. Having little tolerance for the hassles of gossips, misunderstandings and stupid romantic drama. Zaniah picked up football, which quickly found a place as her favorite sport. The girl excelled at it too, she was quick on her feet and tackling her was no easy feat. Her small stature helped slice across the teams defences, she made an excellent winger. Her closest friends were the boys she met in her coaching camps (some of them also in her school) As the sport became excessively demanding most other girls dropped out of it and Zaniah was stuck with the boys for practice. She learned to be intimidating enough to be a formidable opponent. The discipline football taught her, help her put her intelligence to use. Zaniah, with her new found focus, excelled at school activities. Eventually, there came a time when the boys she knew no longer had time to hang out with girls who were just friends. Soon it was all about 'having a girlfriend' and the girl was far from being girlfriend material. Through school she didn't know how to play coy girl, or the damsel in distress. She quickly grew lonely, her academic performance and sport suffered. Having lost most of the people she was close too she fell prey to a spell of depression, Till her mother agreed to get her a Pokemon. Occupied with training her Pokemon, the girl quickly tore out of her gloomy days... Her new journey as a trainer is what brought her to Iwos. | [attr="id","bioRight"] ooc info ☆ NAME Undisclosed ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS Undisclosed ☆ FACE CLAIM Amagami SS Kauro Tanamachi Auriga Zaniah |
