[attr="id","bioSub"]appearance Robin stands close to 5'6", and anyone who knows him rather well will connect his heeled shoes to a need to be taller. This originally stemmed from his father pushing for him to become more masculine and, eventually, reach a height close to his own. However, Robin was never able to meet his father's expectations, taking more after his shorter mother than his father. His mother also managed to influence his style on most days, and he will wear extravagant costumes more fit for the stage rather than normal clothing. He only ever dresses down if a) he really needs to do his laundry, b) it's the day of his sisters' deaths (also known as his birthday), or c) he knows he's going to do something potentially very messy that day... Or d) someone higher up got tired of seeing his costumes. [attr="id","bioSub"]biography Robin Alfsson was the youngest of three children to an aspiring actress and a martial arts instructor. They were quite the odd couple, most would say, but they fell in love in high school and married soon after graduation. They first had twin daughters, Jay and Sparrow, and little Robin came along three years later. His mother had to put her dreams on hold in order to take care of the three children, and it was only when Robin was five that she started pursuing her dream once more. He idolized his parents, wanting to please both of them. He played the role of the good child who was willing to do anything told of him. He did his chores, he did his homework in a timely manner, he played the role of the 'audience' while his mother practiced, and he helped his father out in the family dojo. Most of all, he took care of his sisters. Their happy family was not as happy as their neighbors believed. The twins fell ill when they were ten; Robin was seven. They were in and out of the hospital for tests and their eventual diagnosis. The family fell into debt while trying to pay for hospital bills, and they started seeing their father less and less as he tried to find more ways to earn money. Their mother tried to juggle one of her shows and the twins, and the stress was beginning to show on her face and hair. Robin stepped up to the plate, even at such a young age. Call in grandma, he said one day. I'll help her take care of everything! One sunny evening, a knock on the door signaled the arrival of their grandmother. She moved in with her Cinccino, quickly pushing their mother out so she could focus on her work. The days dragged on as their parents made less and less appearances with both parents getting side jobs to pay off the bills. Robin did not have the time to worry about his parents' rising stress levels, instead dividing his attention between school and his sisters. He did anything he could to help, picking up their chores, helping his grandmother with their food and medicine, and eventually even taking on certain tasks on his own after doing them enough times. They soon became too ill to be left in the house, and they had to be hospitalized. Then came that terrible, terrible Sunday morning. His twelfth birthday, lost and forgotten as the twins passed away. No medicine was able to help them. It rained that day, or that's how Robin would like to remember it. It's easier to admit the weather than to admit that he cried. The family mourned for months, and his grandmother permanently moved in with them in order to take care of Robin whle his parents immersed themselves in their work. Robin tried desperately to reconnect with his parents, going as far as to enroll in the dojo as an actual student or even to follow his mother to work to 'help out' (which often meant running to get the crew members coffee to give him an excuse to be there). He skipped school to pursue his parents, yet, while his attendance record was forever marred, he never lost his nearly perfect records in school. Show up for tests, get a friend to bring him his homework, get said friend to turn in homework, and he was safe. His relationship with his parents seemed to crumble around him without much he could do. He eventually stopped trying, instead focusing on school completely. He joined the drama club in order to keep himself from going home right after school. He only ever dragged himself back home because he knew that he at least had his grandmother waiting for him with a tired smile on her face. Soon enough, he was in his senior year of high school, applying for colleges and wondering just what he was going to do with his life. He had absolutely no clue. His only interests had ever been theatre, martial arts, and school. He wasn't even that good at martial arts, so there was no point in pursuing that. Theatre? Maybe, but he mostly just liked the costumes. He was happy anywhere he was learning, in a sense. Perhaps he could pick a random degree and figure it out as he went. It was during his research for a potential 'future' that he came across Genos Laboratories. After finding what he could on Genos, he decided to take a shot in the dark. Perhaps it was more like impulse or the cliche concept of it sounded like a good idea at the time. He continuously sent in applications for internships throughout his freshman year of college, hoping that small changes to his application and persistence will get him in. Eventually, it did. | [attr="id","bioRight"] ooc info ☆ NAME harp ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS n/a ☆ FACE CLAIM ENSEMBLE STARS! Kagehira Mika, robin alfsson |
